When you're ready to hit the road with your dog here are some tips:
- Make sure your dog's ID tag is current. A great idea is to take a photo of your dog and have it with just in case they get lost.
- Pack a pet first aid kit. Including flea and tick repellent & tweezers for removal of ticks.
- Pack a sweater or coat so your dog can stay warm next to the campfire on those cold nights.
- Make sure your dog's vaccinations are up to date and take copies with you.
- Take a bed that can be portable and waterproof. Like this Compact Bed that is easy to roll up and take anywhere.
- Take any medication needed. Make sure your dog gets a flea and tick treatment before you travel.
- Take along portable food bowls and portable water bottles so your dog can stay happy and hydrated when you're out and about on walks or hikes. Your dog can also have their own dog backpack for the great outdoors.
- Remember to bring your dog's crate and a dog car harness for those long car rides.
- Most of all don't forget to be prepared for those messy times and take their grooming supplies and biodegradable poop bags.
- For the car ride bring dog treats and dog toys to keep your dog content and entertained.
