The campground, nestled within the 9,940-acres Oak Mountain State Park in Pelham, Ala, has 12 sites. Each will accommodate a maximum of eight persons with two vehicles and one trailer. Rates are $30 per night on weekdays and $35 per night on weekends and major holidays.
Campsites will be available for rent beginning May 20, 2011. All sites have 50-amp service, water and sewer hook ups, dump station for horse waste, fire rings and picnic tables. Sites are available on a first-come, first-served basis and registration can be made upon arrival at the front gate of Oak Mountain State Park. Traveling campers without horses will also be able to utilize this campground for one-night stays.
Oak Mountain State Park also offers 14 miles of horse riding trails, 10 cabins, fishing in one of three public lakes, a championship golf course, walking/biking trails, petting farm, campground, and several nature programs.
