Explore the Bruce Adventure Passport Contest

Ontario's Best Family Adventure the Explore the Bruce Adventure Passport kicks off May 1st, 2011. For the last 6 years, this giant scavenger hunt has created a fantastic opportunity for families to reconnect, while at the same time, showing some of the awesome things that Bruce County has to offer.

The Ontario adventure contest attracts hundreds of visitors to the Bruce County area known for its scenic beauty on the shores of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay, a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. The rules of the contest are simple to follow for those seeking a fun and exciting Ontario vacation. Any family can enter the Explore the Bruce Adventure Passport scavenger hunt and here is how the Explore the Bruce contest works.

Interested participants can secure a copy of the Explore the Bruce Adventure Passport by requesting or downloading it online at explorethebruce.com, by calling 800-268-3838 or at any information centre in Grey Bruce or at the passport stops. Adventurers follow the clues and look for the specially marked black boxes and use the hole punch inside to mark the correct location. Once folks have at least 7 stops, the passport is to be sent back to Bruce County Tourism or dropped off at Walkerton Toyota or Tennyson's Yamaha to be eligible to win some great prizes. There are 12 new Explore the Bruce passport stops in 2011. Some involve hikes on the Bruce Trail, some bring contestants back in time or give a taste of some of the great food and drink available in the Bruce. Back by popular demand are the Adventure Stops where for these five locations participants have to decipher clues to find the punch. Bruce County Tourism invites contestants to stay tuned to facebook.com/ExploreTheBruce and twitter.com/ExplorePassport for more clues all summer long. And, the first 1500 people to enter will receive an official Adventurer t-shirt.

New for 2011 is an online contest encouraging the sharing of Explore the Bruce Passport Contest memories. Consumers are invited to go to passport.explorethebruce.com for an all new way to play. Here visitors login, upload photos, videos and stories to receive points. The more information shared, the more points contestants receive. The family with the most points at the end of the contest will win an awesome prize, with the contest closing on October 31, 2011.

The latest popular trend of geocaching is also part of the passport contest in 2011. While completing passports, families are encouraged to grab a GPS at a local Bruce County Library and try to find some of the Geocaches. This fun game lets contestants find buried treasures all over the place, record when they were there in the log book and feel free to take one of the trinkets found inside. And naturally leave something for the next person.

Motorcycle enthusiasts can complete the passport on their bikes with 8 motorcycle friendly stops along the way. And if at least 7 of them are found, adventurers qualify to win $1,000 in gear from Tennyson's Yamaha.

The Explore the Bruce Adventure Passport Contest runs May 1 ? October 31, 2011. For more information, visit passport.explorethebruce.com or call 800-268-3838.
